Vehicle detail page

Also called: VDP, Listing page

A vehicle detail page (VDP) is the web page for a single vehicle in a dealership's inventory, showing its photos, price, specifications, and an enquiry option, and VDP views are a core measure of buyer interest in specific stock.

Vehicle detail page in dealership marketing

Buyers who reach a VDP are far closer to a decision than those on a homepage, which is why listing quality, especially photography, has such a direct effect on enquiries. A VDP with poor photos loses the buyer at the last step.

Retargeting and dynamic inventory ads both depend on VDPs: they show the exact vehicle a buyer viewed, which only works if every unit in stock has its own well-built page.
