NAP consistency
Also called: Local citations, Citation consistency
NAP consistency means a business's name, address, and phone number are written identically everywhere they appear online, including its website, Google Business Profile, directories, and social pages, so that search engines can confidently connect them to one business.
NAP consistency in dealership marketing
Dealerships accumulate inconsistent listings over time: an old phone number on a directory, a showroom that moved, a brand name written three ways. Each mismatch weakens Google's confidence in the listing and can suppress local rankings.
A citation audit fixes existing listings and adds the business to relevant directories with matching details. It is unglamorous work, but for multi-location dealers it is often the fastest local ranking gain available.
